John Kostek, President
John Kostek manages an international team of Learning Portfolio Managers for Hitachi Vantara. Prior to joining a technology company, he was a research associate in a joint position between the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neuroscience at Rutgers Medical School and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
John’s evidence-based training programs have won praise from Chief Learning Officer, Brandon Hall Group, and the Association for Talent Development and his work has been published in Journal of Neuroscience, Journal of Gambling Studies, Journal of Behavioral Addictions, Journal of Traumatic Stress, Computers in Human Behavior, Handbook of personality at work, Handbook of Testing and Assessment in Psychology and TD Magazine.
John lives and hikes in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife, Amanda Stewart, and two German Shepherd Dogs.
Rebecca Hawkins, Past-President
Rebecca has lived in Colorado Springs since 2008 and is currently employed by USAA Federal Savings Bank as Senior Culture Enablement Consultant in HR, where she supports organizational health and effectiveness through culture reinforcement activities. Her past roles at USAA include contact center leadership, internal communications, and Sales strategy. She is a Certified Project Manager (CPM), a certified SAFe Agilist, Toastmasters Competent Communicator and Competent Leader, and holds a Bachelor's Degree from University of Massachusetts with a major in English, a minor in French and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado Christian University. She has a diverse career background including multiple small business start ups, various customer sales and service roles, new hire training, leadership and has served on multiple non-profit boards.
Her vocational passions are neuroscience, employee development, motivational theory, and human centered design. In her spare time she loves hiking with her husband and practicing yoga. She is a HYI-200 hr certified yoga instructor and founder of Unforced Rhythms, LLC, offering restorative yoga classes and retreats.
President Elect - Open Position
This position assists the chapter president in performance of chapter management duties, spending the year learning about board governance and observing best practices. The President Elect automatically succeeds to president in their second year. This role participates in the recruitment of board members to lead the chapter in the succeeding year. Dominique Ross, VP Programs
Isabelle Dominique Ross is a Learning and Development professional working in a Senior Training Specialist role within the Faculty and Staff development office at the US Army Space and Missile Defense School. She is a certified Train-the-Trainer for the Common Faculty Development Instructor and Training Developer/Instructional Designer Courses; she also facilitates the Advanced Facilitation Skills Course and the Training and Education Middle Managers Course, manages instructor certification, and maintains and updates instructor records. Dominique has over 10 years of experience instructing and facilitating and managing training programs. She completed a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and a graduate certificate in Teaching English as Second/Foreign Language from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She also earned her PHR and PMP certifications, and plans to pursue her CPLP credential within the next year. Christina Breiner, VP Finance and Administration
Christina describes herself as a 'learning development dynamo'. She loves being in the classroom (both virtual and in person) and excels at helping learners connect content with their real-world needs. Her primary focus has been on delivering and creating sales training, and she also enjoys facilitating manager development and communication courses. Christina brings a wealth of experience in the non-profit world including volunteer training and management, board membership, budgeting, and recruitment. Christina is a Senior Trainer with Coldwell Banker Realty and works with affiliated brokers and and agents.
Christina enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with her husband and her Great Danes, Archie and Presley.
Sheila Hixon, VP Membership
Kim Knoche, VP Marketing and Communications
Kim Knoche has over 20 years experience in learning and development, instructional design, and implementation. She is currently an IT Trainer at Optum. Kim has a Master’s in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Kim has served as Volunteer Chapter President and Board Director with other non-profit organizations. In addition to serving as VP of Marketing and Social Media of PPATD, she currently serves on the Pikes Peak Challenge committee for the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado.

Cindy Knapp, Board Member Emeritus
A native of Colorado Springs, Cindy has been active in the Pikes Peak Chapter of ATD since 1994 and has served on the Board in the roles of VP of Membership, President Elect, and President. With more than 30 years in the Talent Development field, Cindy has trained and coached people ranging in age from early teens to post-retirement ages. Her experience includes work with non-profit organizations, government contract organizations, corporate training, and sales and business training and coaching. Cindy has worked both with development and delivery of training. She currently works as an Independent Consultant and New Consultant Trainer and Coach for Pampered Chef, overseeing a team of phenomenal entrepreneurs. She also serves in HR for Entrust, a worldwide leadership development organization. Her other passions include ballroom dancing (which often involves teaching, too!), longbow archery, gardening, and training her paint horse to be a fantastic trail horse. LinkedIn Profile
