One of the biggest challenges I had getting into video production was to understand file formats and when I needed to convert a file to make it accessible/playable on different medias/devices. So, I started this cheat sheet. It still needs a lot of scrubbing, so help me out - if you can improve the information, let me know by posting a reply to this ... after you take a look. click on this link to access the document: File Type.doc .

Great resource - thanks for sharing Joel. Do you have any experience (or point us to a resource) with working with HTML5?  According to the late Steve Jobs - this is the future since the iPad doesn't support Flash.

Thanks for sharing this document.  I think it might come in handy when trying to understand the various files.

I'm excited about this group!  I've looking at doing video's and this is a great opportunity for me to learn from everyone.  Thanks for putting energy into this effort!  Let's get some cool video's made...

Great resource Joel.  There might be a spelling error in the iMovie application box.
