Follower Behaviors and Preferred Leadership Styles

This session offers training to workforce learning professionals on the ways in which our own and employee’s behaviors can influence what we want in a leader.  The training will offer detailed instruction of the DISC Behavioral system and Kouzes & Posner’s 20 Preferred Leadership Styles.  The training will emphasize ways in which a leader/manager can identify behaviors in followers and have a better understanding on what leadership styles can assist in motivating followers.

This presentation will review behavior styles as those presented in the DISC Styles Insight instrument and relate those behavior styles to preference for leadership as those defined by Kouzes & Posner. When an HR leader can recognize behaviors in themselves and others – can they apply preferred styles to impact positive performance.
Top Learning Objectives:
  1. Create awareness of behaviors without ourselves and others.
  2. To gain an understanding of preferred leadership styles.
  3. To examine how an understanding of behaviors can help manage the relationship   between leaders and followers.
  4. To demonstrate the application of follower behaviors to preferred leadership style.
  5. Emphasizes and provide tools for HR professionals to contribute to the overall organization’s strategic planning by identifying leadership talent behavior to fit the human capital needs of the organization
