Easy Options for Increasing Virtual Interaction
Don’t Let your Virtual Learners go MIA!
Best practice dictates that virtual learners need interaction every 3-to-5 minutes. Without it, you run the risk of your learners going Missing In Action to answer e-mails, make calls on their cell phone, or chat with friends. If you have ever developed or facilitated virtual sessions, you know how hard this can be. Even if you already take some actions, it’s nice to have a variety of techniques so that your students don’t get bored with the same approach. Here’s a great opportunity for you to ensure you are connecting with your learners and ensuring they find it very difficult to “wander off,” out of your classroom.
For December, The Pikes Peak Chapter will be presenting a panel discussion featuring several distant-learning professionals from around the area who will first focus on sharing their favorite techniques on making sessions more engaging through interaction. Then, attendees will have an opportunity to share their own ideas as well as ask questions of the panel. Be prepared to walk away with several ideas from all participants that you can immediately implement.
