Based on Joel's article featured in the June edition of TD Magazine - National ATD members can read the article now and come with your questions or comments!  Not a national member? Copies will be available at the workshop.

Local Pikes Peak Chapter member Joel Lamoreaux will share highlights of his article and "de-bunk" the often used change-ism that many leaders use when talking employee engagement during transformations: “We just need to get everyone on the bus!”

In reality, people can’t be forced onto a “bus” and “driven” to a new “location.” People change as they decide to make an individual effort to travel that “distance” to the “new beginning” on their own or in small groups: dealing with road blocks, adjusting to detours, and not getting lost along the way. To enable this, companies should complement their organizational change leadership education with an effort to teach employees the skills needed to make this journey on their own… or, Joel would say, develop some good old-fashion “street smarts.” Join him for this session as he previews the lessons outlined in article, talks about practical application and demonstrates an exercise or two he uses in his personal change sessions.
