This year's Learning Summit offers something for everyone in today's talent development field and digital learning landscape.
Session One: Digital Learning: Embrace it! Engage them! A Panel Discussion (9am-11:15am)
Thomas Toth will provide color commentary as our Subject Matter Expert during the morning session featuring a panel of digital learning practitioners that will share recent experiences in analyzing needs, creating content, building e-learning environments and delivering content digitally.
Kevin Siegel from Iconlogic, Inc., will join us on our expert panel to share what he knows about application development tools and techniques, including content authoring, design, eLearning development and publishing.
Other presenters will include Chuck Herbst (USAA), Joel Lamoreaux (Deluxe Corporation), and Moderator Jamie Lanphear (USAA).
Session Two: Digital Learning: Energize us! Networking, Lunch & Keynote Speaker (11:30am-1:30pm)
Thomas will return for a presentation on why digital learning is so important in today’s learning landscape, and will share information on the following:
- To introduce a positive mindset around the importance and efficacy of digital learning options as part of a blended learning approach.
- To provide examples of practical applications of your approach to digital learning that will motivate participants to expand their thinking and skills in relation to digital learning.
- To refer participants to resources for expanding their approach to digital learning.
- To share your tips for engaging learners across digital mediums.
Thomas has over 20 years of global experience in the design and development of training programs and educational technology. He has led the creation and implementation of global learning initiatives for companies like Western Union, Janus Capital Group, SafeNet and IHS. As a consultant, he has designed and built training programs for clients such as CHANEL, Swarovski, Newmont Mining, Airgas, Murale and Trizetto. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors for SeedPaths, a training company that teaches young adults the professional and technical skills required to gain meaningful employment in the IT industry.
He is a recognized as an expert and innovator in the area of online learning and is a regular speaker for the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), and has delivered presentations to the eLearning Guild, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and Pepperdine University.
Thomas is the author of the book Technology for Trainers and a contributing author to both the ASTD Handbook for Workplace Learning Professionals and Michael Allen’s eLearning Annual 2012. Thomas’ work in the area of leadership program development lead to an ASTD BEST award for training and development in 2008.

Session Three: Choice of two different Hands-On sessions (1:45pm-3:30pm) A or B
A. Using Adobe Captivate to Develop Engaging E-Learning:
Kevin Siegel will lead a hands-on breakout session on taking your use of Captivate to a new level. Bring your laptop computer loaded with Captivate to practice and create online content along side Kevin. If you don't have Captivate loaded on a computer to bring with you, you can still follow along and possibly pair up with others that do.

He has been a keynote speaker for ATD conferences and has literally written the book on Captivate along with other authoring tools.

Join us for cocktails and a walk about with your peers as they highlight their favorite digital tools, content and resources. No sales pitch, just good practitioner-to-practitioner networking & sharing.
Session Five: Bristol Brewing Karma Hour (5:00pm-6:00pm)
We’ll leave the classroom behind and cross the hall to the microbrewery, where $1 of every beer purchased will go to Pikes Peak ATD to help fund outreach programs. This event is open to the public, so invite everyone from your office!
